Willie Randolph retains managerial position
May 27th, 2008
Monday was a pivotal day for New York Mets’ manager Willie Randolph. Amidst a crowded meeting room packed wall to wall with team members, sports officials and reporters, it was announced that Randolph will stay on as the Mets’ manager. This was approved by owner Fred Wilpon together with his son Jeff who collectively agreed that Randolph should not feel threatened about losing his livelihood. Issues discussed at the conference include the team’s less than satisfactory games as well as Randolph’s latest comments touching upon the subject of racial disunity.
It was not disclosed how much his renewed contract would cost.
