The League Signs Off on Alex Rodriguez’s Bonuses
November 26th, 2007
The details of A-Rod’s revenue-sharing bonuses in his new New York deal finally have been agreed upon and approved by the MLB. If A-Rod attains all 5 of the $6-million bonuses, his total offer will be worth $305 million. The draft contract was agreed upon a couple of weeks ago with a base of ten years and $275 million. The bonuses were the most difficult points to agree upon, as the New York Yankees don’t typically include incentives for awards such as MVP or Gold Glove, and the baseball league doesn’t typically allow statistics-based bonuses.
