New York Mets fielder Billy Wagner has been struggling due to an elbow injury that incurred on 3rd August. He was due to return to action this week but the team doctors have decided no to activate him this week since he was still experiencing pain and swelling. The team updated his health status on Tuesday and said that his return was delayed indefinitely. Wagner said that he was frustrated by the injury and was looking to complete his rehab soon. He has reportedly only being doing mild throwing practices and has been advised by doctors to take rest for some more days before starting serious training.

LA Angels have been on a very hot winning streak since last two months and have won all their series against their opponents. But Sundays 4-3 defeat to the Indians was a shocker. Earlier they had 3-2 on Friday. LA Angels have been the team to beat in this season. Angels coach Mike Scioscia said that the expectations had been set high and the defeat was a painful one. It was a game of missed opportunities and Angels squandered away good chances. The Angels next play Minnesota Twins and would be hoping of bouncing back. The San Francisco Giants have formally invited Barry Bonds to a celebration organized for awarding its outfielders. Bonds, having not made a single public appearance since the Giants refused to re-sign him at the end of last season, was invited to the celebration ceremony to be held on Saturday. Giants’ media representative said that invitations had been sent to all outfielders who had featured for a definite number of games for them and Bonds was one of them. However sources report that Bonds has not confirmed his acceptance yet. Bonds has 762 career home and was not signed by any other team after being let loose by the Giants.

The Los Angeles Angels are having a jolly ride against the New York Yankees when it comes to baseball games, as they claimed their fifth consecutive game against the Yankees last Friday night by defeating them with a score line of 1-0. It was Torii Hunter’s RBI single in the ninth inning of the game that sealed the victory for the Angles over the Yankees. Torii Hunter will be sure to have enjoyed this master hit because of all that has happened in his family last week. He lost his dear grandmother last Friday and this hit would have really pleased her as well. The tickets to some of the Angels games this forthcoming season are on sale now.

The Tampa Bay Rays made short work of their opponents, the Toronto Blue Jays, in their road game last Tuesday night by winning the second game of the three game series by 3-0. This away victory for the Rays ties the series at 1-1. Matt Garza was the man of the evening for the Rays as he achieved his first career shutout virtue of the five hitter throw. The icing on the cake was provided by slugger Eric Hinske as he came up with his 100th home run of his career in the game. The Rays, who are well known for their hitting abilities, have now developed their over all game. The Rays fans are expecting many more such victories from their team and this win will definitely boost the ticket sales for the remainder of the Rays baseball games this season.
